SCHOOL PROFILE

Education and its power to drive a generation is undoubtedly the most formidable of all pillars that our society is built on.  Since 1994 , the school has imparted the finest education to its students.  It follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) up to twelfth.  The standards set by the institution are high and marks have to be earned though sustained hard work.

Cultural activities and games are an essential part of the curriculum, Inter-House and Inter–School cultural activities such as debates, dramatics and elocution and team games like cricket, basketball,  athletics promote  a sense of loyalty and healthy competition.   The school has proved that motivation through academics and extracurricular activities creates confident, compassionate and intelligent global citizens of tomorrow.

Our history:

The Talent Educational and Charitable Trust established The Talent Public School in 1994 at Njarakkal. The school is located in a quiet ambiance close to the Arabian Sea with a fresh air source and a clean environment.  It is completely free from the rush and the pollution associated with urban schools.  It is a CBSE English medium, co-educational, secular school.  Talent Public School has zero-tolerance for discrimination on the basis of cast, creed, or social status.  We aim at a holistic approach to education focusing on the student’s personality development, self–discipline, time management, learning skills, and above all, a clear-cut career path guidance.  We start this at a young age so that the foundation is solid.  The school started with pre-primary and standard I.  Now we train students up to Plus 2.

In spite of the school’s remote feel, it is only 15 minutes from the city.  Ours is a student-friendly school.  Breakfast is served in the school for students and staff.  We have well-equipped labs for chemistry, physics, biology, and computer training.

Student  Exposure:

We promote a wide range of extra-curricular activities like music, drawing, painting, instrumental music, dance, and yoga as mandatory skill training without students incurring additional costs.  Another unique feature of the school is that every student must participate in regular assembly programs and annual day programs.  This enhances individual discipline, and also helps to overcome stage frights, while cultivating the spirit of teamwork.

Tours are structured into the educational program, and we give much importance to educational tours and study camps. Study tours are conducted regularly.  When A.P.J was the President of the Country the Talentians had the rare privilege of spending some quality time with the first citizen of India at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.   A couple of years back Talentians took a flight to Kochi from Bangalore after their visit to Mysore and Bangalore.  Hyderabad and Secunderabad are regular tour destinations for our students.  Camps lasting for one week, conducted within the school campus are an exciting and unique learning experience for students.  We are taking our Std. III students for 3 days camp to Palakkad & Malampuzha every year.  Std.IV students are going to the capital city Trivandrum, every year for 4 days camp.  At this young age, we are training children to be independent.

KG-The formative years:

The first few years that children spend in school are extremely critical in their development as it also influence their attitude towards the school in general and learning in particular.  Recognizing this, Talent Public School lays great emphasis on providing our younger children with a friendly, warm, and homely environment.  The classrooms are well equipped. The teaching at this level is activity-based and modern methods of teaching like play way and role play are extensively used for imparting education.  Compulsory breakfast to KG students as they adapt to eating all types of food.

Class I-V:

The basic inputs that the child has been provided at the formative stage are consolidated at this level. The student becomes capable of understanding basic concepts of the various subjects.  The classrooms and infrastructure have been carefully selected to ensure that the sense of belonging created in the early years carries on with the child as he/she moves to the junior school.  Various co-curricular and extracurricular activities are introduced at this level and the children are encouraged to explore their creativity and build on their individual talent.  The subjects taught are English, Hindi, Malayalam, Mathematics, and Environmental Science  (EVS).  Compulsory breakfast to Std. I-IV students as they adapt to eating all types of food.

General knowledge is also taught from 1st to 8th along with EVS.  From 1st to 4th, separate study classes are provided so that children can develop a better command of the English language.

Class VI to VIII:

When the child enters Class VI, the school helps make the transition from a protected environment to one where he develops his individuality and personality.  The child is also encouraged to develop his interest in specific subjects as per his aptitude and potential so that in the later years he may specialize in his chosen areas.  From 6th to 10th, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Malayalam, Social studies, and Science are taught.

Class IX to XII:

The Senior School student must prepare for the first major examination of his/her life, the CBSE Board Examinations of Class X and XII.  At this level, the school will strive to provide a scholarly yet stress-free environment to enable the student to achieve the goals and standards.  The teachers at this stage would be recognized experts in their field so that the students can be provided every opportunity to excel at their academics. The senior school children also take the first step into adulthood and need adequate guidance and counseling from all concerned. Throughout this period, the teachers are encouraged to be their friends, philosopher, and guide.

Festivals:

All festivals, irrespective of it's religious inclination, are celebrated extensively with the wholehearted participation of the entire school body followed by a feast for all.  This is with the view of making students understand, as well as to create opportunities for them to appreciate the different festivals from a broader, secular perspective.  Besides, it instills the spirit of cooperation, tolerance, and a sense of participation.  The bigger outcome is that students gain the exposure to Kerala’s rich cultural and religious diversity even from a young age.  Onam, Christmas, and Bakrid are some examples of festivals celebrated at our school with great cheer and full participation.

Class Strength:

We maintain our class strength to a maximum of only 25 students. This makes it easier for teachers to give better individual attention to each student.
